January 17th HOWARD BEAUMONT

It’s the first of our 2007 concerts and probably the last time you will see Howard in concert here at NEDOS as he intends to retire from the concert circuit at the end of this year. Howard has for many years been one of the most popular and respected stars of the organ world and has become synonymous with Scarborough where he entertains holidaymakers throughout the summer and he and his wife Maralyn organise their famous “Scarborough Music Fair” festivals. Although Howard will still be seen at these and other festivals, he will be sadly missed from the society circuit. Be sure not to miss his farewell appearance at NEDOS!

February 21st  MICHAEL WOOLDRIDGE AND PHIL SOLOMON

Michael has entertained us admirably several times but on this occasion we are in for something extra special when he brings along top drummer, Phil Solomon. Phil is renowned as one of the very best drum teachers in the world and is often featured in seminars giving other drummers   the opportunity to learn from him. The combination of Michael and Phil guarantees a fantastic night of music a little different from our usual concerts. In years gone by it was usual for organists to be accompanied by a drummer until modern electronic rhythm units convinced us of their realism. Come and hear the difference a top LIVE drummer makes!

March 21st MICHAEL FARRAR

Despite having been a professional musician for over 25 years this will be Michael’s first visit to NEDOS. A relatively new face on the concert scene, Michael has worked in many cabaret and theatre venues around Europe and the UK working with artistes such as Ken Dodd, Billy Pearce, Joe Longthorne, Jane McDonald and The Three Degrees.

March 30th to April 1st   ****** The  NEDOS MUSICAL WEEKEND *******

at  The SAVOY Hotel, Skegness.

Join us for a weekend of good food, good company, great music and laughter in a premier seafront hotel.

April 18th  JEAN MARTYN

Our first lady artiste of 2007! Jean’s charm, friendly personality and sparkling humour endear her to audiences wherever she goes both here and abroad. She has entertained us many times before and never fails to delight our audiences. Tonight she rings the changes by bringing her special “Last Night of the Proms” concert to our stage.

May 16th  TONY STACE

Another of our regular and most popular artistes, Tony never fails to leave our audiences demanding his return. His vast repertoire includes a wide range of musical styles to suit all tastes and his enthusiasm, humour and boundless energy will have your feet tapping to almost non-stop marches, ballads, theatre organ favourites and classics.

June 20th  ELIZABETH HARRISON

Elizabeth is another artiste who makes her first visit to The Markham Hall. However, many of our members will recall this bubbly Lancashire Lass who, on her first appearance for our society at last year’s Musical Weekend in Skegness, delighted members with her musical versatility.

July 18th CHRIS STANBURY

This will be Chris’s second visit to NEDOS. Chris returned to the concert stage only in 2001 after putting his career on hold for 2 years whilst gaining music qualifications and diplomas. Since then his exceptional musical talent has brought a meteoric rise to fame in the organ world and he is now one of the busiest artistes on the concert circuit appearing at societies and festivals as well as teaching, examining and judging competitions.

August  15th  CHIHO SUNAMOTO

Chiho is one of the most talented artistes on the concert circuit. She began playing at the age of 3 and eventually came to this country from Japan in 1985 as one of Yamaha’s top concert artistes. Chiho’s incredible dexterity at the keyboards coupled with her delightful vocals have made her one of the World’s most popular concert artistes and having performed in 26 countries, she can truly be considered an International Star.

September 19th  MICHAEL McANENY

The second of this year’s new faces, Michael started playing at the age of five progressing through the years with exams and gaining experience playing at many local functions. He paid regular visits to Turner’s Musical Merry-go-Round in Northampton where he formed a good relationship with Nicholas Martin who later became his tutor.

October 17th    JOHANNES FREITAG

Yet another new face and another International Star as German-born organist, Johannes Freitag, the resident organist at Disneyland, Paris, visits us. Johannes is already making an impression upon festival-goers and we are delighted that he has chosen to include NEDOS in his very first UK Concert Tour. Johannes will perform at only a handful of societies around the country and only NEDOS in this area - don’t miss it!

November 21st  GLYN MADDEN

We are fortunate indeed to have persuaded Glyn out of retirement to perform in concert here at NEDOS. One of the UK’s most famous and popular players, Glyn left the concert scene following a spell of ill health. Happily, he has made a remarkable recovery but in the interim period Glyn has become so busy in other aspects of the music business (particularly with The Yamaha Club) he simply no longer has the time to return to the concert circuit. This then is a rare chance to see Glyn in concert and an opportunity not to be missed!

December 19th  DAVID THOMAS

As well as being a very fine and well respected musician, David is one of the nicest guys on the circuit and we are delighted to welcome him back. Although he has entertained us many times before, both at The Markham Hall and at our Musical Weekends in Skegness, David has never visited us during the festive season so here’s an opportunity to enjoy his Christmas programme!

As usual, a buffet will be served during the interval with crackers and streamers to add to the party atmosphere. Admission must be restricted to TICKET HOLDERS ONLY. There will undoubtedly be a huge demand for tickets which will be available to our members well in advance so don’t be disappointed -  get yours early!

Please note: this concert will begin at 7.30 p.m.
